Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has nurtured a reputation as a hard-working action-comedy movie star. The famous actor has garnered thousands of fans because of his charisma and overall persona. However, the “Red One” movie has cast Johnson’s work ethic in a different light from what fans see in the camera.
The movie was originally slated for release during the 2024 Christmas season. However, the “Red One” theatrical release was delayed to November 2024 because of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes. It was reported the story behind the delay is a lot messier than everyone thought.
The actor was accused of chronic lateness and lack of professionalism on set due to the producer’s inexperience. Several insiders involved in the “Red One” production confirmed it was a storm of problems compounded by the inexperience of the film’s lead producer, Hiram García, and Amazon MGM feature and production executives. On top of that, Johnson used to show up as much as eight hours late to set on the movie.
Although a spokesperson for Amazon MGM reported to TheWrap, that Johnson and Seven Bucks productions were incredible partners on “Red One” there are a lot of negative narratives going on. One insider from the movie expressed his thoughts on the “hard-working” persona Dwayne shows to the world.
“The only thing Dwayne was consistent at was being chronically late.”
The great number of insiders confirming Dwayne Johnson’s lateness is well documented by the fans, who are used to waiting for him in fan events to leave entire sets idle while he is off doing three-hour workouts. The Rock’s representatives haven’t released any statement regarding this uncomfortable situation.
