King Charles III resumed his royal duties by visiting the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London. The monarch was completely kind and approachable to the patients of the center who are currently fighting cancer, its consequences, and treatment.
In this King’s public meeting along with Queen Camilla Parker, Charles completely forgot his role as the monarch of the United Kingdom to become one patient of the center. The king opened up with the other patients about how he felt when he was diagnosed with cancer.
During an intimate conversation with all the patients of the center, the King detailed to Lesley Woodbridge, a patient from Houghton Regis, how impacted he felt after finding out about his cancer diagnosis:
“It’s always a bit of a shock isn’t it, when they tell you.”
King Charles III also wanted to look at the bright side of life by stating he was all right and he was not in bad condition. The King had an appointment in the center after his visit to continue his treatment. Despite the unfortunate news, the King has shown resilience and optimism to overcome the challenges that cancer has imposed on his life.
