While it is true that many movie releases were delayed by the writers’ strike, now, without any setback, companies have resumed their projects and have worked hard to make up for lost time. Disney is a clear example, as it released the trailer for ‘Mufasa: The Lion King‘ and confirmed the release date.
This prequel to the successful photorealistic remake of 2019 ‘The Lion King‘, will be available on the screens of all cinemas on December 20th of this year and will narrate a never-before-seen perspective on the youth of Mufasa in the company of his brother Scar, the villain of the first installment.
Barry Jenkins was the director in charge of this new Disney project that has great importance since the ‘The Lion King’ franchise is one of the most successful of the company; its original 1994 film grossed 960 million dollars and was surpassed by the new photo-realistic version of 2019 that collected 1.6 billion dollars at the global box office.
This installment could become the most successful of the franchise, as the story is incredibly deep and every detail has been perfectly cared for, to the point of keeping the voice actors of the first installment and the second, with the intention of not generating unnecessary changes to pre-existing characters.
