Taylor Swift had the whole world in shock after she released her awaited 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Just a couple minutes after its release, she also posted a countdown for another surprise, which ended up being a “secret double album.”
Swift released 31 new tracks in total. However, the news of this surprise album brought tension among the K-Netizens, who didn’t hesitate to compare the American artist’s latest album with BLACKPINK’s discography. At first sight doesn’t make any sense, but they found a way to elaborate their premise around the release.
BLACKPINK’s fans, better known as BLINKS, were shocked at the many songs that were released simultaneously. They highlighted just how limited BLACKPINK’s discography is. They also said that with a single album alone, Taylor Swift released the equivalent number of songs that comprises BLACKPINK’s entire discography.
Since BLACKPINK’s debut in 2016, they have released a total of 32 songs, making Taylor Swift’s new album the equivalent of 99% of BLACKPINK’s entire discography. Although it’s no one’s fault, BLINKS sparked controversy because of the few albums BLACKPINK has released despite being one of the biggest girl bands nowadays.
