BABYMONSTER’s Ahyeon responds to claims that she resembles BLACKPINK’s Jennie

BABYMONSTER officially debuted as a 7-member group with their bop “SHEESH” last month, generating hype among fans, especially because member Ahyeon recently joined the final line-up after being absent due to health reasons. Shortly after her inclusion, fans started comparing her to BLACKPINK’s Jennie due to their stage presence and style similarities. 

This topic was finally brought up to Ahyeon at a recent media event at YG headquarters. In the event, comparing the BABYMONSTER member and the BLACKPINK diva sparked interest among the attendants. Journalists even nicknamed the 16-year-old idol “Little Jennie,” a tag that has both flattered and motivated Ahyeon.

“Senior Jennie is my idol; she has been a huge inspiration to me. To be called ‘Little Jennie’ is an honor. As a junior, I want to do well by my seniors and become an artist who finds her own unique color.”

And just like that, the BABYMONSTER vocalist showed what she actually thinks of being compared to a seasoned idol like Jennie. There’s no space for pointless rivalries or hate, as the BLACKPINK rapper is a source of inspiration for Ahyeon, who’s set to find her own path with time!
