During the broadcast of an episode of American Idol, judge Katy Perry suffered a wardrobe malfunction in the United States, and she nearly showed everything while one of the contestants was performing James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s Man’s World“.
The pop singer handled the situation perfectly and joked, “That song broke my top off” while covering herself with what appeared to be a pillow. Luke Brian also made a joke about it quickly, saying, “Here we come, ratings!”
Another judge who spoke about the situation was Lionel Richie, who saw the situation from another perspective and jokingly assured, “Luke knocked the top off, I’ll tell you all the truth“. However, the final version of events was shared by Perry herself, who defined the event as “a moment for television“.

Katy Perry clarified that it is not the fault of the designer, as she said, “It wasn’t really a malfunction. It was just a moment for television. Every season it seems I rip my pants“, she concluded, “I think it’s the physical comedy, the physical expression side of me that just wants to burst at the seams“.
