King Charles III has been under the spotlight since his cancer diagnosis due to speculations regarding the future of the British monarchy. However, The King has found a way of clapping back to his detractors and proving the monarchy is alive more than ever. This time, he granted a new title to his brother, Prince Edward.
Prince Edward is widely popular for being the Commodore in Chief of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. For this special occasion, the Duke of Edinburgh wore his ceremonial military uniform with special new additions. The Prince was accessorized with a silver medal that featured a gold emblem, which is only granted to the members of the Order of the Thistle.
The Royal Family announced this special title for Prince Edward on “X” (Formerly known as Twitter) as part of the celebration of Edward’s 60th birthday. The Order of the Thistle recognizes 16 Scottish men and women who have held public office or contributed to national life.
“On the occasion of The Duke of Edinburgh’s 60th birthday tomorrow, His Majesty The King has been graciously pleased to appoint His Royal Highness to the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.”
This title also comes as part of relieving Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal duties inside the Royal Family. As it was previously reported, King Charles III was looking to harmonize the British Monarchy by making everyone a fundamental piece of it.
