Winter of aespa might have faced a medical emergency recently, undergoing surgery for a collapsed lung. This condition is known as pneumothorax and it happens when air gets into the space between the lung and the chest wall, making the lung unable to expand as usual. This can cause lung collapse and it’s quite painful.
It has been reported that the Kpop sensation is currently recovering in a Seoul hospital following her procedure on April 11. The emergency has MY (that’s the name aespa’s fans wear proudly) worried, as the “Spicy” singer had just wrapped activities with aespa in Japan, where she dazzled fans on the Venue 101 music show.
Usually, full recuperation from this procedure requires two to three days in the hospital. After that, two months of rest to ensure a full recovery are recommended by doctors. Even though the situation has not been made official, Winter might not be able to complete her schedule, which includes a comeback in May and a world tour in June.
SM Entertainment hasn’t released any statements about Winter’s health condition or whether she underwent a medical procedure due to a collapsed lung.
