The Internet gives no break to girl group aespa! This time, controversy sparked due to some photos of the group members, where they can be seen with their natural skin tones. The snaps were the catalyst for debate between fans and non-fans, giving their points of view on beauty standards and skin tones.

Now, here’s that Kpop tea: it all went down at a New York Yankees game, where members Karina, Winter, and NingNing were photographed. In the pictures, the trio seem to have their natural skin tones, with no trace of editing from other users.

The pictures in question can be found in an article titled “This Is The Reason Why Foreigners Criticize Korean Editing,” which the author used to call out South Korean users and media for creating unrealistic beauty standards. The reason? Some Koreans edit photos to look much paler or white.

As soon as the article was posted, users reacted with mixed opinions. Some said these pictures really show a problem with Korean editing, while others expressed this was no problem international fans should mind. What’s your take on this?
