Good news arrived for fans of action and science fiction due to ‘Matrix‘ returns for its fifth movie, despite the last installment struggling at the box office in 2021, which seemed like this would be the last of this successful saga.
On Wednesday, March 3rd, Warner Bros. announced the fifth movie of ‘The Matrix’ is in development, and this will be directed for the first time by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Oscar Drew Goddard, giving the franchise a new perspective.
The previous production, titled ‘The Matrix Resurrections‘, despite bringing back the actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss after 18 years of the third installment, generated mixed reactions from fans.

This bad reaction from viewers negatively affected the box office, grossing the lowest figure of the franchise premieres with $157.3 million worldwide, which was not enough to compensate for its budget of $190 million.
The details of the next ‘Matrix’ movie, such as the synopsis, premiere date, and cast, are still unknown; however, the return of the iconic actors is expected since their characters were alive at the end of the last installment.
