The princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, revealed on the 22nd of March that a type of cancer had been found during a surgical intervention that took place in early January of this year in her abdominal area. The wife of the prince William confirmed that she will also undergo a preventative chemotherapy treatment, but never disclosed the type of cancer that is afflicting her, which led many experts in the field to take a guess about the princess’ diagnosis.
Dr George Crawford, a general surgeon who specializes in colon, bariatric, and minimally invasive procedures, shared his opinion with the American magazine TMZ. Though he didn’t date to give a precise diagnosis, his knowledge and experience working with similar cases led him to mention two possible types of cancer with similar symptoms to those of the princess.
Crawford mentioned a few factors that led him to come up with a few options for the diagnosis. First, he mentioned Kate Middleton’s age, 42 years old, and also the fact that the cancer was found after an intervention in the abdominal area. Those, among other factors, led him to think that the cancer found in her body could most likely be one of the two: uterine or ovarian cancer.
