Kate Middleton, the princess of Wales, recently revealed that a type of cancer was found in her body after a surgical intervention in her abdominal area. Apparently, and as she revealed, her condition is not severe and the cancer is on its early stages, so she will undergo a preventative chemotherapy treatment. Since early January of this year, the princess has been absent from her royal duties, and the public has started to wonder how long the treatment will take to complete.
Here’s the video of Kate herself announcing the news through her social media account.
According to the British newsletter The Guardian, who has been covering Kate Middleton’s case since her disappearance from public eye in January, a preventative chemotherapy treatment to deal with a cancer in the abdominal area can take between three and six months, depending on multiple factors, such as age of the patient, type of cancer and stage of it.
It’s difficult to confirm when Kate Middleton will be able to retake her role as princess of Wales and Duchess of Cambridge, though it will most likely take between three and six months to recover, plus a few additional months to fully recover and decompress to be able to fulfill her duties. In the meantime, some of the other members of the royal family will take her place during the presentations and appearances that she had scheduled.
We wish Kate Middleton a speedy and full recovery.
