During his most recent show on March 26th, TV program host Stephen Colbert wouldn’t be sorry for making fun of Kate Middleton before her cancer diagnosis revelation in a video message, as he was highly criticized on networks for his alleged apology.
In mid-January, the Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery, which was followed by a large recuperation, which generated great speculation on networks. These rumors were fueled by some celebrities, such as the comedian who made a joke in his show to make fun of it.
Days before, the princess announced she had been diagnosed with cancer. Now, Stephen Colbert seems to justify his words, saying, “When I made those jokes, that upset some people, even before her diagnosis was revealed, and I can understand that“.
The host continued, “But there is a standard that I try to hold myself to. And that is, I do not make light of somebody else’s tragedy“. He understands the difficult times the family is going through and sends them good wishes for a complete and quick recovery.
On social networks, netizens shared Colbert’s new message regarding Kate Middleton, saying, “But was there an apology in there??“, “He missed off the most important part – an actual APOLOGY!“, “I didn’t hear a ‘sorry’ in there, anywhere!” and “So insincere. It’s obvious he’s being forced to say it by the higher ups“.
