In recent days, Devon Werkheiser, ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide’ star, apologized for his joke about the abuse Drake Bell suffered during his time on Nickelodeon, which he recently revealed in the documentary ‘Quiet on Set‘.
After the program was released on MAX, where Drake Bell confessed he was sexually abused by Brian Peck, his dialogue trainer in his shows for Nickelodeon, the actors from ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide‘ from the same kids channel had an interview where they were asked about it.
Due to their disrespectful reaction, the star shared a statement stating, “We were on TikTok Live being asked to comment on the ‘Quiet on Set’ documentary, which we hadn’t seen, and a super sh*t joke came out that was referenced at Daniel (Curtis Lee) and looked like I was talking about Drake (Bell)“.
He admitted his mistake and said, “If I had just watched—especially that third episode—and then watched us joking like that, I would be like, ‘Are they sociopaths? Is something wrong with them?” and understand the bad reaction of the public.
In addition, he also shared his feelings regarding Drake’s reaction, saying, “I know it looks like I’m laughing at this and I f—king wasn’t, but I know what it looks like and that Drake saw it… yeah“. He continued, “I just felt so f*cking awful, knowing that Drake saw us in that context”.
