BTS’ V wins first award with “FRI(END)S” on M Countdown

BTS became the blueprint of Kpop music, their sound and talent led them to achieve success and seek excellence at every release. Unfortunately, all seven members are currently enlisted in the South Korean military. However, this wasn’t an obstacle for V to release a great single and subsequently win awards.

Taehyung surprised his fans, better known as ARMY, with his latest digital single, “FRI(END)S,” which already topped the iTunes Charts across the globe. The song has been gaining a lot of popularity among the K-Netizens, and his latest victory on M Countdown is the living proof of it.

On March 21, KST, A new episode of Mnet’s M Countdown was broadcast, as usually the stage was graced with several comebacks including DAY6, The Boyz, Apink’s Namjoo, PURPLE K!SS, and YOUNG POSSE, among others.

As the show was about to end, the host took over the stage to announce the two candidates for first place. BTS’ V’s “FRI(END)S” and TWICE’s “ONE SPARK” were in a close race to achieve the award. Ultimately, V took the award home with 6,950 points making the first victory of the single on the South Korean Music circuit. You can watch the winner’s announcement below:
