A study was recently published that confirmed that Taylor Swift caused an earthquake with ‘The Eras Tour‘ concert in Los Angeles, United States, which took place on August 20th, 2023, where 70,000 fans jumped and danced, generating seismic activity.

Researchers from Caltech and UCLA University have made a study titled “Shake to the Beat: Exploring the Seismic Signals and Stadium Response of Concerts and Music Fans” that resulted in the latest ‘Swift quake’, due to the last concert of the singer in the SoFi Stadium.

In the report shared on Wednesday, March 20th, the researchers made their findings public, confirming that the attendees continuous movements, as opposed to the music itself, generated “distinct harmonic tremors“.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the professionals behind this study even set up motion sensors over five-and-a-half miles from the stadium during its fifth night, finding that her song ‘Shake it Off‘ generates the largest local magnitude of 0.851, among other relevant discoveries.
