Princess Anne has become a fundamental piece of the British monarchy since King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis. The king had to pull off almost every public-facing meeting while he recovered from an undisclosed form of cancer unrelated to his elongated prostate. This time, Anne attended an important royal event on his behalf.
On March 19, King Charles III hosted a private audience with veterans at Buckingham Palace to mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean War. However, he couldn’t attend the principal reception for hundreds of veterans. Fortunately, Princess Anne and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh were there to support him.
Princess Anne shared a short but substantial speech from King Charles III during the reception. The Princess emphasized that Charles was completely disappointed that he could not attend in person to deliver this special message to all of the veterans.
“It has been a personal ambition of mine to invite you all, in some form, to Buckingham Palace to recognize this significant milestone and ensure you are all most deservingly honored for your valiant service over 70 years ago.”
King Charles III is doing the impossible to resume his royal duties. The king’s resilience is something to admire, particularly when Princess Anne and several members of the royal family are taking care of him while doing royal duties for him for a speedy recovery.
