Barbie is highly criticized for making a Queen Camilla Parker doll instead of one of Princess Diana

Mattel has been surrounded by several controversies through the years. However, this is the first time they have had a feud with the royal followers, particularly with fans of the late Princess Diana. Recently, Barbie released a collection of new dolls, including one of Her Majesty, Queen Camilla Parker.

Criticism surfaced online almost immediately because royal followers strongly believed that Princess Diana embodied the qualities of a Barbie and that they should pay tribute to her memory. On the other hand, some royal followers believe Queen Camilla Parker is the chosen one because she has proven to be worthy of being the monarch of the United Kingdom.

Mattel also wanted to recognize Camilla’s leadership in the Women of the World Foundation, this might be the main reason why they decided to release the doll instead of Princess Diana. Unfortunately, Barbie couldn’t escape from the hate trains sent towards the company for their decisions.

Queen Camilla Parker and Mateel haven’t addressed the controversy caused by the release of the doll. It is also highly unlikely they are gonna release a statement. After all, Mattel celebrated Queen Camilla Parker’s leadership in a foundation, which is completely valid despite the criticism.
