Kate Middleton is currently in the eye of the hurricane for posting a photograph with her children to celebrate Mothers’ Day. Netizens were quick to point out that the image was heavily edited and the international press “killed” it and forbade its use amid concerns of manipulation. However, it took less than a day for the princess to come forward and address this scandal.
It is important to mention that this is the first official photo of the Princess of Wales since her surgery in January so several media outlets tried to reach out unsuccessfully to Kensington Palace for comments about the whole situation . However, Kate Middleton herself wanted to apologize for editing her Mother’s Day photograph and took all the responsibility for Kensington Palace’s actions.
Just a day after the photograph was posted, Kate took over The Prince and Princess of Wales official “X” (formerly known as Twitter) account to apologize for any confusion she might have caused by editing the image:
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”
Although the majority of royal followers are happy with this explanation, others still believe that the image was created as a strategy to keep the details of Kate Middleton’s health status out of sight. However, she is not expected to make a public appearance for at least three more weeks so her condition will remain a mystery for now.
