Commonwealth Day, which is celebrated on March 11 at Westminster Abbey, is one of the most important events inside the royal family. Even though the recent mishaps with King Charles III’s health status aren’t going to be an obstacle to shine in the event, it was actually reported the King is going to be involved during the 2024 Commonwealth Day
Buckingham Palace was pleased to announce King Charles III’s participation in the annual event, the palace informed that a pre-recorded message from the monarch would be played during the service. The king is absent from public-facing duties while he is being treated for an unspecified form of cancer not related to his elongated prostate.
On King Charles III’s behalf, Queen Camilla Parker and Prince William are going to attend the event, being joined by Prince Edward, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, Prince Richard and Birgitte, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent. Unfortunately, there are no reports Kate Middleton is going to be a guest as she is also recovering from abdominal surgery.
King Charles III’s virtual participation seeks to calm people after numerous rumors about the royal family’s conspiracies surfacing online. Although neither the royal family nor Buckingham Palace are going to disclose the royals’ health status, they are going to politely prove they are doing well with the short participation of the king.
