On March 5th, SHINee fans received surprising news as it was announced that the members Taemin and Onew will leave SM Entertainment after 16 years at the company, which has been behind the boygroup since their debut in 2008.
The Korean media outlet News1 shared that Taemin’s exclusive contract with the agency will expire at the end of the month of March. Since then, the idol will continue his activities as a music artist with another company, but he will continue activities with SHINee under SM, as will be the case with the leader, Onew.

Although, according to the media outlet SPOTV News, Taemin will sign with the agency Big Planet Made Entertainment, a representative of the company answered about his recruitment, saying, “Nothing has been decided“.
On the other hand, SHINee member Onew will also end its exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in the first half of 2024, but there are not many details regarding the next steps of the idol after his departure as he is currently “exploring other options“.
