In conversations with the BBC, the man who played Prince Philip in the first two seasons of the Netflix series remembered an encounter he had with the Duke of Sussex during a Polo match a few years ago and revealed the tender nickname he called him.

Matt Smith shared that Harry greeted him warmly and said, “He was like ‘alright grandad?’ I was like ‘alright mate?’“, due to the fact that in this production, the actor played the late Philip of Edinburgh, grandfather of Prince Harry.
