Beyoncé’s fans show outrage against radio station that refused to play her new songs

Beyoncé surprised the whole world during the LVIII Super Bowl on February 11. The American artist embarked on a new journey with the announcement of “Act II” of her trilogy, which already caused a buzz on social media because of a country radio station that refused to play “Texas Hold’ Em,” because it wasn’t country enough.

100.1 KYKC in Ada, Oklahoma quickly became the talk of the town because they declined Beyoncé’s fans’ request to play her latest country single. The radio station ensured in their message that they only played country music at their radio station.

“We do not play Beyoncé on KYKC as we are a country music station.”

Beyoncé’s fans, better known as Beyhive, flooded social media with numerous posts encouraging more fans to request the song to 100.1 KYKC. In addition, the general public also showed their discontent because of their unbiased answer despite Beyoncé releasing a pure-country song. Finally, the radio station released a short statement explaining why they hadn’t played the song before.

“We initially refused to play it in the same manner if someone requested us to play the Rolling Stones on our country station. We just didn’t know about the song….then when we found out about it, we tried to get the song….which we did and we have already played it 3 times on YKC, our country station.”

Undoubtedly, Beyoncé has caused a major fuss on social media with her new two songs, “Texas Hold’ Em” and “16 Carriages,” which are already changing the music scene forever.
