Many iconic figures have performed at the Super Bowl like Prince, Beyoncé, Madonna among others, being the musical show something highly anticipated at the time of watching the game, and this year was no exception the organizers of the Super Bowl surprised us with another iconic character of pop culture: SpongeBob. Along with his friends, were an iconic part of the beginning of the Super Bowl 2024 broadcast to recreate the 2001 episode “Band Greek”.
The episode is about when Squidward forms his own band for the underwater version of the superbowl, after several failed rehearsals the band makes its big appearance and manages to make a great interpretation of “sweet victory” being this episode a cultural moment that was presented by Maroon 5 at halftime of the Super Bowl game in 2019 to introduce Travis Scott where “sweet victory” was heard while the stage projected SpongeBob to pay tribute to the creator Stephen Hillenburg who passed away in 2018. So this year the full rendition of the song was performed to the delight of many fans watching this great event.
Without a doubt, having the opportunity to see this cartoon from the childhood of many with technology making one of our favorite episodes come true, so let’s look forward to it. The next edition of the Super Bowl. We already want to see who are the celebrities invited to sing and of course what is the gossip of the moment which is the couple we most want to see.
