The K-Netizens have shown their discontent and outrage towards any idol or celebrity who smokes indoors. This wasn’t an exception when it came to Ji Chang Wook, who was recently caught holding an e-cigarette during rehearsals. The South Korean actor and singer had to apologize due to the rising controversy over his head.
The controversy started after JTBC released a making of video of “Welcome to Samdali,” which had to be removed because of the hate trains it was receiving. Ji Chang Wook along with his agency, Glorious Entertainment, released a statement to pacify the K-Netizens.
“We apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with the behavior of actor Ji Chang Wook in the drama-making content released on January 26. Actor Ji Chang-Wook acknowledges his inappropriate behavior and is sorry for disappointing many. We once again deeply apologize to those who encountered the content, the staff on-site, the cast members, and viewers who love the work.”
Despite this honest apology, the K-Netizens strongly believe that South Korean actors and musicians must respect everyone in the room. They also stated this kind of behavior shouldn’t be accepted under any circumstance around colleagues who haven’t been asked if they feel comfortable with them smoking indoors.
