In the recent hours of February 8th, it was revealed that Snoop Dogg and Master P sued Walmart and Post Consumer Brands for allegedly hiding their cereal from consumers by not exhibiting and promoting it as stipulated in their negotiation.
The musical artist stated in the lawsuit that they made a partnership promotion agreement with Post Consumer in which they would take care of the manufacture, marketing, distribution, and sale of their product.
However, despite the fact that ‘Snoop Cereal‘ arrived in Walmart stores in mid-2023, a few months later, consumers couldn’t find it on the shelves. The demand assured the store that they would maintain the cereal boxes in their warehouses, where they would stay for months without being exhibited.
In addition, the demand alleges the Walmart website also raised the cost of the product by more than 10 dollars per box. But that was not all, as they placed the cereal on ‘unconvencional’ shelves as those for baby products, resulting in financial losses for the ‘Snoop Cereal’ sales.
As Snoop Dog company ‘Broadus Foods‘ seeks to inspire minorities to get ahead in the economy, they also accuse Walmart and Post of “disregard and exploitation of minority entrepreneurs in the business world“.
