One of the most awaited films, without a doubt, are the proposals offered by Disney. In this case expanding the world of princesses. If you like the new generation of Disney princesses, you will be glad to know that Moana 2 is a reality and the studio has confirmed it. Let’s remember that just at the time where Frozen came out, another movie arrived, I did named as one of the most loved by the audience, making the success of Moana is so great that they already want to continue the story in a second part to be released soon.
We all like the idea of seeing more princess stuff despite the poor reception that Disney’s big studio releases have been getting lately. During an earnings call on Wednesday, the Disney CEO, Bob Iger, revealed Moana 2 was initially developed as a TV series.
If you have no idea what Moana is about, here is the synopsis from filmaffinity:
The story takes place two millennia ago on islands in the South Pacific. The main character is Vaiana Waialiki, a young girl who wants to explore the world by sailing the ocean. She is the only daughter of an important captain who belongs to a family with several generations of sailors.
The film was a huge success, grossing $643m worldwide and nominated for two Academy Awards and is undoubtedly a crowd favorite. If you want to see it, don’t forget to subscribe to Disney +, you can find it there. During the earnings call, Iger also disclosed that Disney+ has obtained the streaming rights for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which will debut on the service on March 15. Five songs that weren’t featured in the theatrical or video-on-demand versions will be available in the Disney+ edition. So I think is a good time to suscribe.
What do you think about it? Are you excited for a Moana sequel?
