Prince William has been doing the impossible since he started to perform Kate Middleton’s royal duties after her planned abdominal surgery. It was previously reported that the future monarch of the United Kingdom is working at least 16 hours per day while balancing his royal duties with his family duties.
PEOPLE reported that Prince William has been actively contacting King Charles III after Buckingham Palace’s announcement regarding his cancer diagnosis. The monarch of the United Kingdom has stepped back from his public engagements at least for one month, which implies that Prince William and Queen Camilla had to carry all the weight of the British monarchy on their shoulders.
There are no current plans to appoint Counsellors of State to act on King Charles’ behalf. However, in case of being required, Prince William is ready to replace the king until he fully recovers from his procedure and battle with cancer, making numerous public appearances.
“It is hard with Kate being ill as well, but he will step up. The King wouldn’t want to put that pressure on William. He has always wanted to save his children from having that pressure too early and that will remain. Particularly as William has other priorities.”
The Palace insider also revealed that King Charles III wants to keep working as an active royal, but it will depend on what treatment he is going to receive. Usually, that kind of treatment drains people’s energy, so he will need a lot of support, including his replacement for a short period.
It was also reported that Prince William is set to make one of King Charles III’s public engagements today, as he is going to carry out an investiture, and he is going to attend London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala on February 7 night.
