Céline Dion made a surprise appearance on the stage to present the award. However, everything went downhill after Taylor Swift allegedly ignored her on the stage.
Céline Dion announced that Taylor Swift’s 10th album, “Midnights” won “Album of the Year,” becoming the first person to win the award four times, breaking her tie with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon. The artist walked onstage with so much joy that she even snubbed Céline by grabbing the award without saying a word to the music icon.
Social media was flooded with numerous comments regarding Taylor Swift’s rude attitude towards Céline Dion. Particularly because this appearance was one of the first since she announced she had stiff person syndrome. As the ceremony closed, the Netizens’ outrage increased because of this uncomfortable moment.
Just a couple of minutes after Taylor Swift and Céline Dion became trending topics on “X” (Formerly known as Twitter), Swift unveiled a picture backstage hugging Céline Dion. Even though she showed her love towards Céline on social media, the Netizens couldn’t forget this easily.
Earlier last night, Taylor Swift announced her 11th studio album, titled “The Tortured Poets Department” while accepting an award for best pop vocal album. Undeniably, Taylor Swift has been trending on social media for all the right and wrong reasons since the ceremony.
