Queen Elizabeth wanted Princess Diana to marry her younger son, Prince Andrew, rather than King Charles

Recent revelations from a new royal biography, which document the relationship between the monarch and his late mother, assured that Queen Elizabeth wanted Princess Diana to marry her younger son, Prince Andrew, rather than King Charles.

The new book titled ‘My Mother and I‘ by the royal biographer Ingrid Seward shared that the late Queen and the rest of the royal family were completely impressed with Diana Spencer, but Elizabeth had two complaints about her when she became part of her son’s life.

In the first place, the Queen wondered if Diana, who was 12 years younger than Charles, “could differentiate between the man and the prince” she would marry. And the other one was that Elizabeth couldn’t stop thinking that she “would be far better suited to her younger son, Andrew“.

Despite the late monarch’s reservations over the beloved Princess Diana, she and the current King got married and had two children, William and Harry. However, 15 years after their marriage, they got divorced.
