Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decreased in popularity in the United Kingdom since they departed from the royal family in 2020. They relocated to the United States to live a calmer life, however, they have received numerous low blows since then, and a new one just starting this year.
A new poll conducted by Ipsos has proved what the British media outlets have tried to say for a long time now. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex failed to improve their popularity graph, even when King Charles III and Kate Middleton were recovering from their respective procedures.
After all the drama sparked in 2023 because of Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” where he profoundly tainted the royals’ reputation, it was enough to reach a new spot into popularity among the British people. Still, his blunt declarations were counterproductive.
Prince Harry had 47% having an “unfavorable opinion” of him, while only 23% had a “positive opinion.” On the other hand, Meghan’s case is scary as 54% of the population asked had an “unfavorable opinion” of her, while only 18% relied on a “positive opinion.”
The polls demonstrated this is the first major blow of 2024 for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, after having such a bad year in 2023 ending their Spotify deal and the accusations made by Omid Scobie in his recent book, “Endgame.” Even if the former royal couple returned to the royal family, the British people would be greatly against it.
