There is not much information regarding Kate Middleton’s hospitalization, other than that it was for an abdominal procedure that went well. Now the princess is back at home, a home where she will rest until she feels better and then return to her normal activities.
Not even Kate Middleton’s closest advisors knew she was going to undergo surgery.
Sources told Page Six that she and Prince William wanted to maintain their privacy, so even her closest advisers were unaware of the exact nature of the problem. Although they were not present at the London clinic, her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, are believed to have FaceTimed with their mother.
Kensington Palace shared the news in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital, adding that the Princess of Wales is “making good progress.”
“The Prince and Princess would like to express a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided,” the statement read. “The Welsh family continues to be grateful for the good wishes they have received from around the world.”
William has reduced his work responsibilities to help with the children, and she has decided to wait until after Easter to return to public life. Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, the couple’s lifelong nanny, is also providing assistance. Pippa and Matthew, Kate’s brother and sister, live in the same neighborhood as her parents, Carole and Mike Middleton.
“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private,” the original statement continued. “The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
