The South Korean acting industry might not spell greatness without Rowoon in it. The idol’s performing and acting skills have made him earn a spot among the greatest in the industry, and his latest role in “The King’s Affection” has already received critical acclaim. However, he almost didn’t get the role, and the story could’ve been different.
The idol and actor is the tallest third-generation Kpop idol, this is one of the major and current topics when it comes to Rowoon. Even, this particular feat has become a serious issue when he is going to be cast in a new K-Drama, particularly in “The King’s Affection.”
The director, Song Hyun Wook, was completely concerned about Rowoon’s height in comparison to other male characters because of their dynamic as rivals. Before the show’s premiere in South Korea, Song Hyun Wook explained he started casting other male characters but ultimately, Rowoon had the role.
“That was a bit troubling because I had to cast the other actors who were as tall as Rowoon. After all, if the height was too different, the rivalry wouldn’t come to show. On our first meeting, we talked for about an hour-and-a-half and after that conversation, I wasn’t worried anymore because he was very funny and confident.”
Numerous South Korean critics strongly believe that Song Hyun Wook hit the nail on by casting Rowoon in “The King’s Affection”. In addition, the fans attributed the series’ success solely to the idol’s great chemistry with other characters and his acting skills as well.
