(G)I-DLE’s album, “2” breaks their pre-order record

(G)I-DLE surprised everyone showing a never-seen side of their persona as they were completely playful in their new video for the pre-release track, “Wife.” The sensational music video became popular among the K-Netizens, who didn’t hesitate to praise the girls’ production and performance. This is living proof of their success as they broke their pre-order records for their upcoming album.

(G)I-DLE’s Company, Cube Entertainment” announced on January 24, KST that the girls’ upcoming second full-length album, “2,” has already surpassed the 1.8 million pre-orders in just a couple of days. Previously, they set their record at 1.1 million pre-orders with their sixth mini album, “I Feel,” in May 2023.

In addition, the 1.8 million pre-order milestone makes the girls occupy the second place in the history for pre-orders for a Kpop girl group. The record of all time belongs to BLACKPINK with nearly 2 million copies in 2022 with their album, “BORN PINK.”

(G)I-DLE’s “2” is set to be released on January 29, so this means there is still a huge room of opportunities to surpass and break BLACKPINK’s records of the most pre-ordered album of all time for a kpop group in South Korea. In addition, the fans cannot wait for the heavy rollout and surprises under the girls’ sleeves for this promising and sensational era.
