One of the things that the entertainment industry is getting used to, is to put actors of a very different age, acting as people of an age that does not correspond to them, it is not the first time we see very large actors, playing teenagers and very young people who even get to take up to more than 10 or 20 years, and now one of the members of BLACKPINK would be highly critical, given for playing a teenager.
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo criticized for being too old to play a teenager in ‘Omniscient Reader’.
When Jisoo made her acting debut in JTBC’s Snowdrop, she proved her skills, which opened up new opportunities for her as an actress. In Omniscient Reader, also titled Omniscient Reader’s Perspective, Jisoo is slated to play the lead role. Jisoo’s role became clearer when the story revealed that the idol will play Lee Ji Hye. In the original, the character uses her incredible strength to help Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho) overcome many situations.
After the casting announcement, some Jisoo fans expressed their opinions. They expressed their dissatisfaction with Ji Hye’s promotion to the lead role, as well as the fact that Jisoo just turned 29 earlier this month, and the original character was supposed to be 17 years old. Her supporters defended her by saying that it is not uncommon for adults to play teenagers, especially in Korea, and that Jisoo’s timeless look makes her look no older than 17.
Undoubtedly seeing Blackpink’s talented young girls in other mediums than just music is more than eye-catching, as they prove to be very talented young ladies in different entertainment fields.
