Malia Obama makes her film directorial debut
Many times we have heard the term nepo babies, which refer to children of important people, be it businessmen, musicians, actors, etc, but the importance of this term is that they are people who usually have more opportunities in life because of the family they have and this has been a much discussed topic due to the selection of a specific short film who is the daughter of Obama, yes, the former president of the United States.
“We hope you enjoy the film and it makes you feel a bit less lonely, or at least reminds you not to forget about the people who are,” Obama said in the clip, which was posted before the movie screened in Park City, Utah.
“The Heart,” which Obama wrote and directed, is about a lonely man who “grieves the death of his mother after an argument about groceries and an odd request in her will,” She was also given credit as Malia Ann in the programs when “The Heart” was screened at the Telluride and Chicago festivals.
Malia was interviewed in a segment known as Meet The Artist and gave details of her short film that addresses themes such as “lost objects, loneliness, loss and regret,” but also “works hard to discover where the tenderness and closeness can exist in those things.”
What do you think about it? Do you think the short film will win an award?
