After her appearance in the hit Netflix series ‘The Crown‘, the actress Elizabeth Debicki reveals that the British accent was the characteristic of Princess Diana that cost her the most to incorporate into her acting since during most of her adolescence she lived in Australia, so she had a different pronunciation of English.
Even so, she did not give up and put all her dedication into practicing her British accent. The result was completely satisfactory for Elizabeth since, thanks to her impeccable performance, she managed to get important awards for her career, such as the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and the Critics Choice Award in the same category in the ceremonies of this year 2024.
Playing the acclaimed people’s princess was a challenging and responsible task that actress Elizabeth Debickin had to perform with great professionalism, and although she did it to perfection, she confirmed that the most difficult scene to play was the accident and her last hours of life.
The Australian actress explained: “Recreating Diana’s last hours in Paris, harassed by the paparazzi, was difficult; although I didn’t have to play much, it’s really horrifying to have so many people screaming at you and wanting something“, implying that she put herself in the position of the princess and understood how difficult that situation could have been for her.
