Australia demonstrates their support to Charles III King in the middle of rumors of abdication
Recently there have been some rumors about the future of the crown, since King Charles III passed his crown people have already said that he was about to step down, and now, there would be more information about this rumor. Amid mounting calls for his abdication following Denmark’s Queen Margrethe’s resignation in favor of her son, Australia has given Britain’s King Charles III some wonderful news.
Australia has reportedly abandoned plans to hold a vote to become a republic and oust King Charles III, according to a report in the UK’s Daily Express. According to Australian Minister Matt Thistlewaite, the administration has reportedly decided not to go ahead with the planned referendum, which was due to be held next year.
The minister said, “Right now, our priority is the cost of living, and that is the appropriate thing for the government to focus on.”
Thistlewaite, according to The Times, said, “I’m not going to put a timetable on it.”
In an interview Thistlethwaite had said, “The current method of selecting our head of state is undemocratic, it doesn’t represent modern Australian values, and that’s something we want to start a debate about with Australians in the long term.”
