Apart from the musical acts, Tina Fey, Ellen Pompeo, Christina Applegate, and other well-known TV personalities presented during Anthony Anderson’s hosting of the Emmy Awards. The renowned NBC program theme tune “I’ll Be There for You” was performed on stage by singers Charlie Puth and The War and Treaty, and Perry’s picture was the last to flash throughout the emotional montage. The most recent Emmys celebrated works from June 2022 to May 2023. The writers’ and performers’ strike forced the presentation to be rescheduled from September to May.
Though they are only able to feature a select few stars in their yearly broadcast in memoriam section, the Television Academy hopes that its online database, which debuted in 2009, “will provide a venue for the acknowledgment of the television community as a whole.”
