Sophie Ellis-Bextor had everyone dancing at clubs around the world with her smash song, “Murder on the Dancefloor” 20 years ago. But she did it again after the song appeared at the end scene of the majestic Prime’s movie, “Saltburn,” even though she is soaring to new heights next week into the United States charts.
The song faced almost the same treatment as Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” which was used in one of the most special moments during “Stranger Things” season 4. “Murder on the Dancefloor” already debuted at No. 98 on the Billboard Hot 100 and rebounds to No. 8 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart.
As the holiday season ends, it is predicted that Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s magnum opus will rise to the top 60. The song also has gained popularity in TikTok and Instagram because of the great push from Emerald Fennell’s film, “Saltburn.”
Neither Sophie Ellis-Bextor nor her team have released a statement regarding the promotion of the song with a new performance or a new music video. However, this track is still climbing on everyone’s playlist, and surely it is going to soar to new heights as the movie garners audiences through the days.
