Kep1er to disband after company reportedly decides not to renew contract

Kep1er will reportedly finish its activities on July 3rd of 2024 as their company Wake One Entertainment failed to reach an agreement with the members’ agencies. Of course this sudden news has completely saddened fans on social media.

The group consisting of Hikaru, lead dancer Xiaoting, Huening Bahiyyih, Chaehyun, Japan’s Mashiro, Choi Yujin, Yeseo, Dayeon and lead vocalist Youngen is facing an uncertain future with the reports that their current group company is making.

Despite this, Wake One Entertainment is not giving up on extending Kep1er’s contract. Despite challenges in reaching consensus with all agencies, discussions are ongoing. Kep1er’s Kang Yeseo and Mashiro will return to 143 Entertainment for solo activities post their Kep1er journey.

Kep1er, born from Mnet’s ‘Girls Planet 999,’ debuted on Jan 3, 2022, enjoys immense popularity, especially in Japan. With their debut’s 2nd anniversary just passed, their scheduled end date is July 3, but it could change depending on contract negotiations.

It seems that the individual agencies of several members wish to move their represented to other agencies or to venture into other activities such as solo artists, actresses, models or to put them to participate in other musical shows. At the moment Kep1ian, the fandom of Kep1er, is waiting for a decision.
