Dua Lipa has become one of the most prolific pop stars of the last few years, and as big as she is right now, she still has time to fangirl over other artists. Recently, Dua couldn’t help to mention BLACKPINK on her list of fan favorites.
Previously, Dua Lipa released the first track titled “Houdini” of their new album, in celebration of its release she engaged in an interview with Warner Music Korea. It is known that Dua has a great fanbase in Korea, for this particular reason she answered questions submitted by her fans, including possible collaborations with Kpop idols.
The British singer started by confessing her inclination to collaborate with Korean artists originated from being a devoted fan of BLACKPINK. She continued by explaining that during the early stages of her career, she sent “Kiss And Make Up” to BLACKPINK, expressing interest in collaborating with the South Korean girl group.
Dua Lipa also was greatly surprised because BLACKPINK interpreted and personalized their lyrics in the Korean language. She also mentioned she forged an exceptional connection with the girls. For example, Jennie’s participation in Dua Lipa’s podcast, “Dua Lipa at Your Service” in 2023 showcases that bond between the pop stars.
Undeniably, “Kiss and Make Up” was such a special moment both for BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa in their careers. The song already has reached nearly 610 million streams on Spotify as it is one of the must-listen songs from their catalog. Surely, the BLACKPINK girls are fans of Dua, just like the “New Rules” singer is a fan of theirs!
