Recently, it has become known that the closest friends of pop star Taylor Swift have been ‘disturbed‘ by an article published by the U.S. press that speculates about her sexuality, claiming that the 34-year-old singer is not really heterosexual and that she belongs to the LGBT community.
In this case, it was the magazine The New York Times that was responsible for questioning Taylor’s sexuality in a very long article written by Anna Marks. Before this, sources close to Swift expressed their opinion to CNN under anonymity, allowing them to speak without limitations.
Taylor Swift’s associates are ‘dismayed’ at the publication of a 5,000-word New York Times opinion piece that openly speculated on her sexuality and whether she is a closeted queer person, CNN reports:

“It’s outrageous because she wouldn’t have been allowed to write something like this about Shawn Mendes or any male artist whose sexuality has been questioned by fans“, said the first close source; another said, “They have no shame or boundaries, certain journalists writing about Taylor, no matter how invasive, false, and inappropriate it is“.
While it is true that Taylor has previously supported the gay community, she has publicly denied belonging, even revealing to Vogue in 2019: “I just want to be an ally because their rights are being taken away; it’s not fair, and until recently I realized I could stand up for a community I’m not a part of“.
