Whenever we see productions of any production house that is behind any ideology or see similar themes, we lose credibility, and apparently that would be what is happening to the King, who has been branded a liar, insinuating that what he shows is not the reality and that in truth, the King has been very criticized lately.
New documentary on King Charles III under fire for being too ‘positive’
King Charles III has released a documentary, and like everything the royals do, people paid too much attention to it, but now the topic has gone viral not for good reasons, but people are pointing out that what the King says sounds very false and seems to be a false positivity, generating great criticism on social networks.
Oxford Films produced the ninety-minute special, which debuted on December 26. Regarding a program that follows King Charles III during his first year as king, the BBC has received nearly 900 complaints. A record 109,741 complaints were filed against the company over its extensive coverage of Prince Philip’s passing in 2021.
“Charles III: The Coronation Year is a one-off observational documentary that covers a period of historical significance when the King took on new duties and prepared for the first Coronation in this country for 70 years. It has unique access and captures personal moments as the King adapts to his new role. Editorial control is retained by the BBC,” the BBC said.
“The BBC seeks to reflect a range of viewpoints in news and current affairs coverage of the monarchy. Earlier in 2023, when documenting the Coronation, Panorama on BBC One examined the structures and finances that surround the Royal Family and featured a newly commissioned poll about attitudes to the monarchy. On Radio 4, the Today programme had a debate on whether the UK needs a monarchy and The World This Weekend looked at its future.”
Undoubtedly what we have seen on screen and in the media is not the complete truth, so so far all the information we have is what the royals give us, but let’s hope that the king’s message is real and there will not be any kind of conflicts.
What do you think about it? Do you think the King gives a positive image of his kingdom?
