We must accept reality, and that is that as much as we want to seem simple, we all like to receive gifts and that goes beyond the value of what they are giving you, it is more the action of knowing that someone is thinking of you and that even if you do not get to consider them, they have the attention to give something that they believe could be to your liking, so the gifts are not only difficult to choose, they are also extremely significant. Usually gifts are given to people you know, but when you are a public figure, there are people who may also think of you and why not, give you a Christmas present, like the one Prince Harry would have received.
When thinking about royalty, the first thing that may come to mind is wealth, and it is not well known a person without money, especially when it comes to the kingdom of England, and although Prince Harry no longer lives there his life is not precarious, not at all, only his mansion in Montecito was listed at more than 30 million dollars, but still, people like to give them gifts.
The strange gift a royal gave Prince Harry that left him confused.
Prince Harry, despite no longer being part of the royal structure, will never stop being the son of Charles and brother of William, beyond the royal titles, so it is normal that other relatives can contemplate him in their gifts, but there was one in particular that caught a lot of attention.
Prince Harry recounts that Margaret gave him a unique present one Christmas Eve at Sandringham Estate, just as everyone was about to open their gifts: a small biro with a rubber fish wrapped around it. He remembers: “I decided to unwrap the tiniest present first while I was standing in front of my pile. The label read, ‘From Aunt Margo’. I turned to face Aunt Margo and said, “Thank you!”
Harry adds, “It wasn’t just any biro, she pointed out. It had a tiny rubber fish wrapped around it. I said: ‘Oh. A fish biro! OK.’ I told myself: That is cold-blooded.”
It is also added in her memoir that:
“Her relationship with Granny wasn’t an exact analogue of mine with Willy, but pretty close. The simmering rivalry, the intense competition (driven largely by the older sibling), it all looked familiar. Aunt Margo also wasn’t that dissimilar from Mummy. Both rebels, both labelled as sirens.”
What do you think about that? If you had the chance to give Prince Harry a gift, what would you give him?
