BTS’ RM was involved in one major scandal earlier this year because a Korean Railway Corporation employee illegally accessed his personal information, which ultimately led the employee to be fired from the company in April. However, the K-Netizens showed their outrage after he was reinstated.
The employee accessed RM’s personal information data over three years starting in 2019. The person had access to ticket purchases, address, and even, the idol’s phone number. In addition, the employee also accessed other employees’ data sparking controversy in South Korea.
On December 22, Kim Du Gwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, disclosed the Center Labor Relations Commission’s review, which was submitted by the KORAIL corporation that ordered the reinstatement and regular wage payment of the employee to be dismissed.
Despite the first review denying the employee’s dismissal, the Central Labor Commission overturned the decision and gave a second review, which ultimately led the employee to be reinstated. This news made the K-Netizens show their outrage because they didn’t respect RM’s rights and privacy by reinstating the employee again.
