New reports have recently surfaced that finally reveal the reason why G-Dragon suddenly decided to part ways with YG Entertainment, as it seems that the idol had his mind set on renewing his exclusive contract with the agency, but a situation made him change his mind.
According to Sports Seoul, G-Dragon refused to renew with YG Entertainment due to the way he was treated after rumors that the idol was being accused of substance abuse, recalling that the company turned its back on him.
During those days, YG Entertainment issued a special statement saying, “It is difficult to have an official response regarding G-dragon’s situation, as he is not an artist that belongs to our company“, which left the singer very upset, as he claims that they could have done more for him.
For his part, Galaxy CEO Choi Yong Ki showed how important his friendship with G-Dragon is and made sure to provide him with legal advice throughout the process, giving him all the necessary tools to protect his image and artistic career.
For that reason, when the YG Entertainment contract arrived, the idol rejected it and went with those who supported him in the most difficult moment, signing an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation after being cleared of all suspicions of his accusation and controversial drug use.
