Rihanna confirms she’s not working on new music, instead, wants to have another baby

The 35-year-old Barbadian musician Rihanna is on a pregnancy streak with two back-to-back sons with her boyfriend, the American rapper A$AP Rocky, and it looks like she wants to expand her streak with yet another pregnancy, as she confirmed in a recent interview. The announcement sparked rage among fans who have been asking her to release music for the last 7 years.

During 2018, two years before her first pregnancy, fans were asking the musician to do her thing and release music, instead, she gave them a make up line, the incredibly successful Fenty Beauty line. Later in 2019 until 2021, asking Rihanna to release music became a popular trend on social media, but she decided to take a break from music and focus on her business.

By 2022, when Rihanna announced her first pregnancy, fans had been awaiting new music for more than 6 years, and were expecting her to retake her music career after the birth. Spoiler: she did not. Then, she participated in the Super Bowl Halftime Show in early 2023, which led fans to think that she was going to release new music, but she once again shut down all hopes by announcing a second pregnancy during the performance.

Now, more than 7 years and two children after her last album release in 2016, Rihanna confirmed during an interview with E! News that she has having a daughter in her plans for the near future, but did not mention anything about new projects involving music. The announcement was met with a lot of backlash, as fans are now getting tired of asking a musician to release music, not make up lines, or babies.
