GOT7’s Mark Tuan became a trending topic because of his polite request to his fans, as he had enough of receiving gifts to his own home. This increasing concern has become common among numerous idols, who have labeled this kind of fan as Sasaeng, which means obsessive.
On December 20, Mark Tuan took over X (Formerly known as Twitter), to ask the fans not to send things to his home address. The idol decided to post it in English as he emphasized he knows the gifts are full of love, but he would appreciate it if they stopped sending letters and packages to his house.
Currently, Mark Tuan is all hands on deck for his “The Other Side Tour”, which is set to start on January 6. He will be performing in Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Bangkok, and Seoul. However, he constantly receives gifts at his home.
GOT7’s Mark Tuan has joined other idols, such as BTS’ Jungkook, who have asked their fans, politely, to stop sending gifts because they are crossing all limits of privacy and intimacy. This kind of action should be monitored by their music agencies to protect the idol’s integrity.
