The Kpop scene has always been pretty popular because of the devoted fans towards numerous soloists and groups, and BOYNEXTDOOR is no exception to the rule. The boys debuted in 2023 but they already garnered fans around the world because of their exceptional talent. However, this wasn’t the reason why they’re trending now.
On December 18, there was a controversy in online forums regarding BOYNEXTDOOR’s bodyguard’s violent actions towards a fan. The threads included videos and photos of a fan holding a camera following BOYNEXTDOOR at the airport, the fan who was taking photos was violently assaulted by the bodyguard who pushed the fan to the floor.
People around the scene were surprised and uncomfortable, the videos went viral immediately and numerous K-Netizens showed their outrage towards the bodyguard. They stated this is not the way to protect idols and that this kind of abuse should be punished by the music agency.
Other K-Netizens also explained that Sasaeng fans, which means obsessive fans have crossed the line and this is only a preventive measure against them. Neither BOYNEXTDOOR’s music agency nor the boys themselves have addressed the uncomfortable situation.
